Job Description: Kitchen Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the direction of the head chef
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Assist in receiving and storing food supplies and ingredients
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Assist in plating and garnishing dishes
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and notify the head chef when items need to be replenished
- Assist in organizing and cleaning the kitchen at the end of each shift
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
